The Amoeba Project
Divide and Conquer
The Amoeba Project is a biweekly gathering of friends and individuals, for the purpose of "doing something instead of just bitching about it". We get together and do a little bit each time to try to support these principles:
- liberty
- freedom
- rational discourse
- diversity of viewpoints
- tolerance
- sane public policy
Amoeba is designed to be easy to copy. Just join the mailing list, write to the person who maintains the list of active Amoeba groups (currently
jade@rubick.com), and get started.
The only real gimmick to Amoeba is that every meeting, you try to have a few more people there. When it gets big enough to do so, you split up the group, and then compete with each other to see who can make a bigger difference!
